Lance's Music

Solo

Some might say he came to it late in life. Although Lance Barker has always been involved in art, whether it's drawing landscapes, nudes, or creating short animated films, his passionate pursuit of music didn't really begin in earnest until he left his Silicon Valley career and came to Plumas County. Just over 4 years ago, his "career" in music began when he decided to confront his fears and stood up in front of a packed crowd at Words and Music in Quincy and sang 2 songs acapella. Several people approached him and said he had a nice voice and that he should continue to sing. So he did! Since his arrival, during which time he completed 2 years as an outdoor recreation leadership student at Feather River College, he's performed several solo pieces on the Town Hall Theatre stage, been a steadfast regular to the Monday night jams at Pangaea, and studied music under several teachers.

He is also involved in the bands BLT's, Bow Motion, and contributes to music for the Akira Tribal Bellydance Troupe. He's learned to play the guitar, charrango, accordion, cello, ukulele, and a little mandolin. A singer, and a multi-instrumentalist, Lance Barker looks forward to further adventures in music.
